It seems every young person today wants to build something of their own. Generation Z is a highly motivated group, and many believe they can create their own career path and even title. For example, becoming a social-media influencer is no longer a pipe dream. It’s an entirely feasible ambition.
However, sites like Instagram make the “entrepreneur life” look easy to obtain, glamorous and full of more rewards than obstacles. It can be easy to have your head in the sky. Like their predecessors, the Millennial generation, Gen Z still has a lot to learn about what it takes to build something truly valuable in the long term.
Bill Green, a long-time entrepreneur and author of All In: 101 Real-Life Business Lessons for Emerging Entrepreneurs, has this advice for young entrepreneurs: Before you think about the big shiny reward at the end, keep in mind why you’re starting in the first place.
