Brooklyn Girl is the story of a teenage girl who is so defiant and anti-authority, that she runs away from home, only to become enveloped in a world filled with drugs, alcohol, sex, and violence. Lonnie lives with her drug addict mother and senile grandmother, where there is little to no supervision in her life. When her father intervenes and tries to straighten her out, she quickly burns her bridges with him too. Turning to drugs and alcohol, her life soon becomes a nightmare filled with torment, despair, hopelessness, and troubled times. When her life becomes unmanageable, she realizes that the people she pushed away are the people she needed most.
