"Despite the fact that the narrator was incredibly high achieving and hardworking, I found her wholesome, down to earth, and authentic, and the experiences suffered, whilst on a scale that I believe not many could have endured, were still made relatable to anyone who has been bullied at work or affected by discrimination and racism. This meant that I felt invested in the story and also identified with much of the tale. So, I was interested and found myself empathetic, sometimes furious, and other times, like the narrator, completely and utterly flabbergasted. Strong, engaging read indeed!"

"I liked how the author used foreshadowing by showing the readers some dialogue that would come later. The creative use of suspense throughout the book kept me hooked in anticipation of what would happen next. In conclusion, there is nothing I disliked about the book. I recommend it to anyone who may have gone through or is currently going through a hostile work environment, racism, or religious discrimination."

"[This] memoir is sad, as it should be. Reading it, I grew angry and frustrated-angry at seeing such behavior from highly educated people who, well into the new century, perpetuate the irrational attitudes of bygone eras, and frustrated because institutionalized racism is so subtle that one cannot expose it easily."
